For over 22 years, Chris Colvin, Colvin IP's founder, has delivered outstanding results for his clients in dozens of IP litigations and appeals, including landmark patent, trade secret, trademark, copyright and false advertising cases. Prior to founding Colvin IP, Chris was a partner for seven years in a leading AmLaw 100 law firm in New York and an IP attorney at top firms in California and Louisiana. In addition to his law firm experience, Chris has extensive experience serving as in-house IP and litigation counsel, including as an IP litigator in a Fortune 500 legal department and as the Chief IP counsel and General Counsel for several funded startup companies. Chris is available to serve, at a fixed monthly fee, as the outside GC or Chief IP counsel for funded startups or other small to midsize companies. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University. After working for several years as an engineer with IBM, where he designed key components of the U.S. air traffic control system, Chris earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School, where he was one of only 15 students in his class awarded seats on both the Moot Court Board and a competitive law journal.
